Olympique Marseille have been encouraged in their pursuit of AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.

OM have kicked off talks with Roma this week about a deal for the Holland international - and it's emerged Roma are willing to do business.

Foot Mercato says a first offer of €25m cash has been tabled by OM for Strootman, plus a further €500,000 bonus.

However, Roma are insisting they go higher with days just away from the European market closing.

Strootman has also been tabled a deal worth €6m-a-year.
