Olympique Marseille are prepared to cough up to Watford for Pape Gueye.

The midfielder signed a pre-contract with Watford this past season in France and is due to join the Hornets from Le Havre at the end of the month.

However, Gueye is reluctant to now leave France and is keen to sign for OM.

Local reporter Manu Lonjon has revealed while Gueye's camp are claiming 'irregularities' over the pre-contract, OM would prefer to avoid a legal battle.

As such, they've approached Watford about settling on a fee for the midfielder - with terms in the region of €2-3m expected to be settled.
