Olympique Marseille are moving ahead of PSV Eindhoven in the race for Manchester City defender Karim Rekik.
The Holland international is expected to be made available for loan again this season, having spent last term with PSV.
Rekik, 19, is likely to start preseason with City before manager Manuel Pellegrini makes a decision over his future.
Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa is keen on Rekik and it's understood the young centre-half likes the idea of working with the Argentine.
