Mario Lemina: Southampton won't block departure

Mario Lemina says Southampton won't stand in his way if he wants to leave.

The midfielder is interesting Atalanta this summer.

And he told Foot Mercato: "Today, I'm in Southampton. I still have three years of contract. But it's true that I do not rule out the possibility of going elsewhere. The last four months have not been easy for me, with my injury. The coach has put his team in place. Me, I want to go onto new things. So why not leave?

"We have very good discussions with the club. We agree. If I do not feel in the project, I can leave. If not, the club is counting on me, there is no problem. It gives me the opportunity to go elsewhere.

"We work on it with my agents, we do not put on any pressure. We are really waiting for the best project, the best offer. We look from day to day. For now, I am in Southampton and I work as best as possible to be at my best."

On Atalanta, Lemina added: "I heard that too. They did not tell me more. If it's true, it's a project that could interest me. It is true that I want to find the Champions League.

"It could be interesting. After, between what is said and what is true, there is often a margin. So we'll see."
