Marino: No offers for Inter Milan outcast Icardi

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio has confessed there's no offers for Mauro Icardi.

That's according to former Napoli chief Pierpaolo Marino.

“I was at San Siro for Inter-Benevento in the Coppa Italia in January and got chatting to Ausilio," revealed Marino on Rai Sport.

“He revealed to me that there wasn't even an inkling of an offer for Icardi or the idea that another club wanted him at all, so there are no real proposals on the table.

“It sounds as if it's just his wife who keeps pushing to say there are all these clubs lining up. I my experience, these situations are usually resolved with the player returning to the ranks with more humility and with a push to do even better. He has to send a signal to the team and the club.

“It's possible of course that Inter will sell at the end of the season. The problem, if anything, is with the squad. In other cases like this, the team would've rushed to defend their captain and allow him to keep the armband. Evidently, the representatives of the squad told Inter they did not feel represented by the captain."
