Marco van Ginkel inked new Chelsea deal ahead of PSV return

Chelsea have confirmed Marco van Ginkel penned new terms before returning on-loan to PSV Eindhoven.

Van Ginkel has signed a contract extension, committing himself to Chelsea until 2020, and has agreed to return to PSV Eindhoven on loan for the season.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been building plenty of top-level experience at PSV as part of his development.

He was first loaned there in January 2016 and immediately played an important part in their winning of the Dutch league title that season. He averaged a goal every two games and also played in the Champions League.

Van Ginkel then overcame injury at the start of last season to return to PSV for the second half of the campaign, where he continued his impressive rate of scoring as they finished third in the league.

The Dutch international's Chelsea career began in 2013 when he signed from Vitesse.
