Marco Asensio upbeat about Real Madrid return: Knee feels good

Marco Asensio says Real Madrid have everything to play for when the season resumes.

Real management had been resigned Asensio would play almost no part in the 2019/20 season after suffering an ACL injury in pre-season, however the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed the Spaniard to return and he has made clear that Los Blancos are going to try and win every remaining trophy that remains.

Asensio worked fully in training with Zinedine Zidane's squad on Wednesday and is likely to be involved in the return to LaLiga Santander action.

"We really want LaLiga to start and face those 11 games that are going to be life or death, we're going to try and win everything we have left," Asensio told Real Madrid TV.

"We have all returned with a good physical level, there was a lot of desire to return.

"We all want to work together because there is a very good team spirit between us."

He added: "I feel very good, the first week was different for me because I came back with my teammates, but I've adapted.

"My knee has responded well and I feel very good physically.

"The wait for me has been long, I've had to be very patient and it's hard to see teammates training and you being in the gym, but I think the wait has been worth it."
