Real Madrid captain Marcelo is confident he leaves the club in great shape.

Marcelo said farewell to the club at today's ceremony during an emotional speech.

He said, "Everything I have achieved until today, my grandfather has surely had a gigantic part. He always bet on me, he took me to train, he has left me free to choose what he wanted. This is what has made me mature earlier than normal.

"I came to Madrid when I was 18 years old, I thought I was mature, but he had no idea about anything. My grandfather has helped me a lot, I think there is no need to explain, I have done what he had to do. Imagine if it came out with three titles, that would have been the story, but the story is written, what has had to happen has happened. I am leaving very calmly to say goodbye to the club of my life.

"This season I haven't played almost at all, well for me the importance is not only in playing, I have been very useful not playing much and I have felt with a great weight and responsibility.
