Marcelo will be on the Real Madrid plane today for London ahead of tomorrow's Champions League clash with Chelsea.

There was a major doubt that the wing-back would be available after he was called to man a polling station for a local Madrid election.

However, Marca says Marcelo's commitment involved him acting as cover for the incumbant, who has declared she can attend the station - so releasing the player.

Marcelo and Real Madrid had appealed to the local election authorities several times to be released from his position, but was refused every time.

However, he will now not be needed for today and so will join Real's squad on the club's plane.
