Marcelo Bielsa confirms Leeds extension after top-half finish

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has broken his silence about his future at the club.

The Argentine coach was reportedly close to signing a new deal for several weeks, but nothing was made official.

Now Bielsa has stated that he will be staying at the club beyond the end of the season.

He spoke after his side's final day 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion, which propelled them to ninth in the table.

Asked about his future, he replied, per The Sun: "Everything Leeds offers a manager exceeds their expectations.

"I have a lot of gratitude for the moments I've been here and I'm very grateful.

"As soon as it's resolved the club will announce it."
