Mane, Yoshida absence will force Southampton into transfer market

Southampton will go after a couple of reinforcements in the winter transfer window according to manager Ronald Koeman.

The Saints will lose Senegalese midfielder Sadio Mane and Japanese defender Maya Yoshida to the African Cup of Nations and Asian Cup respectively which will force Koeman to go after some replacements in January.

"We will look for one or two players in the window because of international competitions," said Koeman.

"Mane will be at the Africa Cup of Nations and Yoshida will be at the Asia Cup."

Mane joined the Saints from Red Bull Salzburg in September and has since made 10 Premier League appearances for the south coast club while Yoshida has played seven times in the league this term.
