Thierno Seydi believes Mane has achieved all he can with the Reds and needs a fresh challenge.
Mane has long been linked with Real Madrid, where coach Zinedine Zidane is a big fan. Indeed, it's been suggested in England that Zidane sees the Senegal international as an ideal alternative to PSG striker Kylian Mbappe, who is set to remain in Paris next season.
Mane signed his current deal almost two years ago and it runs to 2023.
And Senegalese mover-and-shaker Seydi, who was also in charge of Didier Drogba's affairs during the Chelsea legend's playing career, believes it could be the right time this summer for Mane to make the jump.
"Sadio has set the bar pretty high. He won everything with Liverpool. So, at some point, you have to know how to leave at the right time. I know personally that for three years Real has been interested in Sadio Mané.
"For me, going to Real is not a regression, on the contrary it is an outcome. You arrive in a galactic club. You will be even more publicised. Real is one of the most famous clubs in the world.
"If the interest of Real is real, I would have advised them (Mane's current agents) to accept it."
Seydi remains one of the most influential figures in Senegalese football. While he no longer counts Mane on his books, he does manage the likes of Metz striker Habib Diallo and Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.
