Mane hails Liverpool effort: 'We are a family'

Sadio Mane insists the family atmosphere at Liverpool has made him feel settled at the club.

The 25-year-old moved to Merseyside from Southampton in the summer of 2016 and has gone on to establish him as a fan favourite and one of the Premier League's best players.

And he says the Reds efforts to comfort him, including the implementation of a prayer room for the Senegalese midfielder, has helped his performances on the pitch.

"From the first day, they have shown me that we are a family. If you want to be successful when you play, you have to be free in your mind and that happens if you know that everything is taken care of - you just focus on the football.

"I have a good relationship with everyone off the pitch and you can see that it follows on the pitch too. It makes things easier and, if we are all together, we get stronger as individuals too.

"The support from the fans is also important, when you feel loved and like they are really behind you, it's like you can achieve anything."
