Man Utd young gun Martial receives Facebook recognition

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has been awarded the Young Player of the Year award at the 2016 Facebook Football Awards.

Nearly one million Facebook users from 193 countries around the world voted to pick the winner of the young player award.

The 20-year-old, who arrived in a £36million move from Monaco last summer, has scored 15 goals in all competitions for United this season.

"Thanks to all Facebook fans for supporting me as the young player of the year," said Martial.

"I am happy to be playing in the Premier League and I hope that I will continue to score plenty more."

Martial beat Everton's Ross Barkley, Tottenham pair Dele Alli and Eric Dier, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and Arsenal's Hector Bellerin.
