Argentine winger Angel Di Maria has postponed his medical with Paris Saint-Germain, throwing his move to the French champions into some uncertainty.

However, PSG chiefs are confident that it was simply a case of Di Maria being too tired to undergo his medical after enduring a grueling 20-hour flight to Qatar, where the club is currently based for pre-season.

The former Real Madrid star has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer and this latest twist throws more doubt on his situation after United boss Louis van Gaal admitted he did not know where the midfelder was last week.

But further reports suggest the medical is now set to take place on Tuesday ahead of the completion of the transfer with a fee believed to be in the region of £44million.

Once signed, the deal is reportedly likely to see Di Maria earn £170,000 a week in the French capital.
