Manchester United are reportedly preparing an enormous offer for Thomas Muller.

According to the Daily Star, United will offer the Germany international £1million per month in order to lure him from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

United boss Louis van Gaal is determined to sign the 25-year-old forward and is willing to part with at least £60m to land him, with some reports even suggesting the fee could go as high as £100m.

An Old Trafford source told the Star: "He is the one the club wants more than anyone else.

"With him in the side, United could genuinely challenge for major honours again and they are willing to break the bank to get him.

"But he will have to force the issue himself and make it clear he wants to leave Bayern.

"It is all down to him now."
