Manchester United are ready to allow captain Antonio Valencia to run down his contract this season.
The Mirror says United have no intention of triggering a 12-month extension option in Valencia's current deal, which will expire this summer.
With this in mind, Valencia's representatives have begun negotiating a move to Inter Milan for the Ecuadorian right-back, who has played just eight times this season.
Inter reportedly want to sign the 33-year-old during the January transfer window but United don't want to weaken Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad without bringing in a replacement.
Valencia has played just once under Solskjaer having fallen out of favour under the Norwegian's predecessor, Jose Mourinho.
