Man Utd will return to scoring ways with Rooney and van Persie fit

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is supremely confident that the team will soon revert back to their customary winning ways.

The Red Devils have struggled without a fully fit Rooney and strike partner Robin van Persie this season and the England international is assured that the goals will soon come now that they are getting some games under their belts together.

Ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League Round of 16 first leg with Olympiakos, Rooney said that the two-pronged attack of he and van Persie will be back to consistently scoring goals sooner rather than later.

"Robin is a fantastic player," Rooney said.

"He is one of the best goal scorers in world football.

"We've got a good record when we've played together but unfortunately we have had injuries at similar times but hopefully we can stay fit and help us win games.

"When we're fit, we'll score goals, but we've also got other players who can come in and score goals too."
