Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be in discussions regarding a potential player swap involving Angel di Maria and Edinson Cavani.

The Daily Express is reporting that PSG have tabled a £40million offer for United's Argentine international di Maria, while the Red Devils are understood to be interested in PSG's Uruguayan striker Cavani.

United are understood to value di Maria at £50million, but are willing to discuss the possibility of a straight swap for Cavani.

United boss Louis van Gaal has previously indicated he hopes to retain di Maria, but it is believed he will give the deal his blessing if the Red Devils can acquire Cavani in the trade.
