Nemanja Matic has hailed Manchester United teammate Scott McTominay as a "complete footballer."

The 23-year-old has blossomed into one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's most important players this season.

And Matic says the Scotland international is exactly the type of player the club needs.

"He is a very important player for us. He is very professional," Nemanja Matic told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"He has a lot of quality and he has a great character. I like to see how he trains and how he plays. I am sure over the next 10/15 years, he will be very important for United. Every single day he gives his best and that's what the main difference between players is.

"He has that mentality. I can see myself 10 years ago. The way he approaches games, how he listens to coaches and other players. Scott is one of those who is a complete football player, he is exactly what Manchester United needs."
