Man Utd veteran Mata 'very happy' Cavani now a teammate

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata admits he's been helping Edinson Cavani to settle at Old Trafford.

Cavani joined United on deadline day having been a free agent following his release from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Mata has admitted he's delighted to be playing alongside Cavani, having admired the striker throughout his career. The Spaniard is helping Cavani become settled in Manchester.

"Well, I'm very happy Edinson has come here because he is a very professional player, a very committed team-mate and very driven, during all his career," Mata told United Review.

"Also, Edinson is very humble, of course, and he is a guy who likes the countryside. I think he's settled now in his house in the countryside, which he is happy about.

"Of course, I told him that it is important to have a couple of umbrellas, not only one, in Manchester so I am sure he's got a few! He is loving where he lives and his family is also happy.“

Mata also confirmed he is helping fellow Spanish-speaker Cavani get over the language barrier in United training.

“Yeah, I try," he said. "Of course, he is getting used to the English language so I am trying to translate for him.

“There are a few of us that can do it and I am happy to do so.

“Hopefully he'll keep scoring, like he did against Everton. Everyone knows his qualities so I'm not going to only discover now where Edinson Cavani is in the football world."
