Manchester United veteran Juan Mata is mourning the loss of his mother.
The Spanish star, who represented the likes of Valencia and Chelsea during a glittering career, is dealing with personal heartbreak at present.
Spanish reports stated his mother, Marta Garcia, passed away after a long battle with an illness.
She was described in the media as a "very dear, good and loving person."
United confirmed the news with a somber tweet on Monday: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Juan Mata's mother, Marta Garcia. Thinking of you and your family, Juan."
The likes of Bruno Fernandes, David De Gea and Ander Herrera all posted supportive messages for their friend on social media as well.
