Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani is set to disappoint Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme.
The former Argentina star has personally taken on the task to bring Cavani to Boca this summer and talks have been ongoing for some weeks.
Off contract in June, Cavani is keeping all interested parties guessing as he considers his options.
However, ESPN says while not ruling out a move to Boca, Cavani's favoured preference for next season is to remain in Europe.
The Uruguay international wishes to stay at the top of his game in preparation for next year's World Cup.
