Man Utd to use Chicharito as lure for summer signings

Manchester United will use out of favour striker Javier Hernandez as bait in order to secure the services of top targets during the upcoming summer. Hernandez's stock has plummeted over the past few years after struggling for regular first team football at United as well as during his loan spell at Real Madrid this term.

With Madrid not taking up the option of turning Hernandez's deal into a permanent one, the striker has returned to Old Trafford but it is clear to see that the Mexican star is surplus to requirements under Louis van Gaal.

Despite such a downfall, Hernandez is still coveted by a host of clubs around Europe and United are now looking to take advantage of the interest by using the 26-year old as a makeweight in their pursuit of top targets during the summer.

The likes of Mats Hummels, Nathaniel Clyne, Benedikt Howedes and Geoffrey Kondogbia have been mentioned as targets for van Gaal and the Manchester Evening News report that the Red Devils will be looking to use Chicharito as a sweetener to any potential deal for the aforementioned players.
