Man Utd U23 coach Sbragia: UYL good for Chong, Gomes

Manchester United U23s manager Ricky Sbragia says the UEFA Youth League is good for youngsters like Tahtih Chong and Angel Gomes.

Sbragia believes that United's domestic campaign in the Premier League 2 is not as important as securing success in the Youth League, and that success in Europe can make them better players.

“I think the European games are more important than our games, to be truthful with you, and I think it's a great psychological test for us," Sbragia told the Manchester Evening News.

"How the European teams play and how we can deal with it, and in some cases maybe undermining what we have got against the likes of Valencia and Young Boys and Juventus, I think the group has done extremely well.

“And as a group they are strong, they're very tight, similar to the one in the Under-23s dressing room, and they work hard for each other.

"But I think their [European] games, for me, are a big bonus and I think Nicky has done extremely well with them and they have got some good results, and I think that's important."
