Man Utd turn attention to PSG right-back van der Wiel

Manchester United are poised to make a move for Gregory van der Wiel according to reports.

Le Parisien reports that the Red Devils are showing significant interest in the Dutch defender after missing out on Dani Alves who has signed a two-year extension with European champions Barcelona.

United boss Louis van Gaal is determined to land a quality right-back this summer and is likely to set his sights on 27-year old van der Wiel, especially after being rejected by Alves and with Southampton playing hardball over Nathaniel Clyne.

The Daily Mail also reports that United have been given the option to sign van der Wiel for £7million.

It is believed that Italian club AS Roma are also considerably interested in Holland international van der Wiel who joined PSG from Ajax in 2012.
