Man Utd Treble winner Yorke: Martial just like me - and Henry

Manchester United Treble winner Dwight Yorke can see the partnership of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial matching the success of his with Andy Cole.

Martial's maiden hat-trick in the win over Sheffield United last week took him level with Rashford on 19 goals, with the duo both enjoying an impressive season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The pair have some way to replicate Yorke and Cole, who hit 53 goals between them as United completed an historic treble in 1999 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

But Yorke can see similarities between the two partnerships.

He told The Sun: “Anthony reminds me of myself and Thierry Henry in the way he has started his career playing out wide before on the left or right before developing into someone who can play down the middle.

"Marcus does not get the credit for how intelligent a player he is.

“He is the perfect partner for Anthony in that he can play just off him as a number ten and drop into the pockets, going long or short or floating wide off much like I did with Andy Cole.

"Not that he has to be stuck in that role because he can also run beyond Anthony to get his goals too."
