Manchester United Treble winner Jaap Stam is convinced former manager Sir Alex Ferguson will not have allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to get away with his current antics.
Ronaldo was dropped and ordered to train away from the first team after leaving Old Trafford before the end of victory over Tottenham last week - despite being among the substitutes.
"He doesn't play as much as he wants, so it's clear that he's frustrated. It would have been strange otherwise. But football is a team sport and he knows that his actions will trigger an action by the club," says Stam.
"We have talked about Sir Alex's hair dryers before.
"Ronaldo would have received a serious blow from him if he had done this under his management. I am sure of that."
