Manchester United Treble winner Ronny Johnsen insists Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is capable of taking the manager's job long-term.
The Molde coach is set to be confirmed caretaker manager at United to the end of the season.
But former teammate Johnsen told VG: "If Ole Gunnar gets this job, they may not need to look for a new manager for the next season.
"If he gets these players playing, why can he not lead the team for longer?
"It will be exciting to see.
"They get a guy who knows the club in and out. He has had a great job in the club before, with the recruitment team. For me, this is completely gold."
