Manchester United Treble winner Andrew Cole insists Marcus Rashford's form surge has nothing to do with Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.
Rashford is in career best form this season for United.
"I am an individual. I will not be involved in the Ronaldo thing because he has left. Ronaldo wasn't there 18 months ago when Marcus Rashford was struggling," Cole told Stats Perform.
"(It's) the Ten Hag effect, I think. No doubt the manager believes in him and tells him how good he is. But in the end, he may have taken his eye off the ball a bit with what he did off the field.
"There might have been a bit of that as well, but to see him in this really fit form now, the way he's playing, it's a statement of strength from him. For me personally, it doesn't matter what anyone else does to you.
"I look at him now, he seems to say to himself: 'I am at the level I want to be at'. That's why he plays so well."
