Man Utd told to go higher for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar

Manchester United have been told they must up their offer for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.

Gazzetta dello Sport says United have had a £53million offer rejected.

They would need to pay a record-breaking fee for the Slovakian who is one of Serie A's best defender and has been on the radar of Europe's top clubs.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been fond of the 23-year-old for a while and the Slovakia international was among centre-backs considered to bolster United's patchy defensive line over the summer.

Skriniar massively helped Inter come back to the Champions League this year — playing every minute of the last Serie A season and topping ranks for most possessions won in the Italian league.

With Skriniar's impressive performances against the Catalans in the Champions League this season, it might take breaking the £75m world record fee Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk in January to sign the Slovakian.
