Man Utd to offer Henderson new deal

Manchester United are ready to offer Dean Henderson a new contract.

The Daily Mail says the 22-year-old has one year left on contract with an option for a further year but United believe the best plan for his development is to send him back to Bramall Lane for a season in the Premier League and then he can return with greater experience and as a keeper of greater value.

Rather than leave him with just one season left on his deal they are looking at revising his terms before he rejoins Chris Wilder's promoted squad.

United are continuing discussions with David de Gea over a new contract but have so far refused to meet his demands and are happy to let his contract run down until it's conclusion next summer.

United could yet promote Sergio Romero to number one with Lee Grant as deputy and Joel Pereira back-up.
