The father of Ilkay Gundogan admits contract talks with Borussia Dortmund are on hold.

The midfielder, who is recovering from a back injury, is wanted by Manchester United and Real Madrid - and has so far baulked at opening talks about a new deal with BVB.

Gundogan's father, Irfan, revealed: "We do not want the boy to become distracted. Ilkay first must get healthy.

"He'll soon return and then we can talk."
