Man Utd target Everton Ribeiro not looking to leave Cruzeiro

Everton Ribeiro has made it clear that he has no intention of departing Cruzeiro anytime soon.

The 24-year old midfielder was the subject of an offer from an unnamed English Premier League in January with reports at the time suggesting it had come from reigning champions Manchester United.

It has since been rumoured that Everton may again emerge as a summer target for United with Italian outfit Napoli also showing interest but the Brazilian has indicated that he wants to stay put at Cruzeiro.

"The time for speculation is over," he told UOL.

"I am now focusing on my games and improving so everything works out."

Cruzeiro are currently competing in the Copa Libertadores with their next fixture coming against Uruguayan side Defensor Sporting on March 11. They sit at the top of Group 5 by virtue of goal difference after one win in two matches, like the remainder of the teams in the group.
