Manchester United have made an improved offer for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

United manager Erik ten Hag is prioritising the signing of his former Ajax protégé.

United failed with an offer of €60m plus €10m in bonuses last week.

However, local reporter Gerard Romero states today that United have returned with a solid €70m proposal for the midfielder. The fee can rise dependent on bonuses.

For their part, Barca want €85m, though are eager to sell given De Jong's wages are proving a drag on the budget.
