Manchester United star Anthony Martial missed his team's 3-2 win over Southampton due to illness.

The Frenchman was not in the squad for the game, which United had to rally from behind to win away from home.

Martial has struggled for form this season, which has been compounded by the suspension he served for a red card against Tottenham earlier in the campaign.

Asked about Martial by reporters, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "Anthony [Martial] fell ill overnight so he's in the hotel by himself, poor lad.

It is unclear if Martial will be available for the team's UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain at home on Wednesday.

He may also face a race to be fit against West Ham United next Saturday depending on the nature of his illness.
