Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda hopes to prove his quality on-loan with Birmingham City.

Blues fans welcomed his pedigree, with the memory of that Aston Villa curler at the forefront of their minds.

Macheda smiled: "That was a good one, hopefully they will like me for my goals here as well.

"Of course, I still hope to (be a major player). I'm still young, I made my debut when I was very young.

"Now I'm more mature, I have more experience but I need to play more games, I'm confident I can do well."
