Manchester United are still hoping to sign Omar Elabdellaoui before tonight's transfer deadline.

According to talkSPORT, United are looking to bring in a new defender in a bid to cover their current injury problems and Olympiacos right-back Elabdellaoui could be that man.

The 24-year-old Norway international, who can also play on the right side of midfield, continues to be heavily linked with the Red Devils but the Old Trafford outfit have not yet finalised an agreement with Olympiacos.

Elabdellaoui came through the Manchester City youth academy before departing the Etihad Stadium for German club Eintracht Braunschweig in 2013.
