Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.
United see the Austrian as a potential replacement for Dean Henderson, who is in talks with Nottingham Forest.
The Athletic reports Bachmann would cost £2-4m.
The report adds that 36-year-old Tom Heaton, who has only played 22 minutes since returning to Old Trafford last summer, could step up to be number two but a foray into the transfer market is possible.
Bachmann, 27, has been at Watford since 2017 and played 23 times as the Hornets won promotion from the Championship in 2020-21.
