Manchester United youngster Ashley Fletcher will remain at Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.

Fletcher's loan deal at Barnsley was set to expire at the end of the month but United have decided to extend the talented striker's stay at Oakwell for the rest of the season.

The 20-year old was delighted to have been able to prolong his stay at Barnsley and stated that he is looking forward to help the League One side finish this season as high up the table as possible.

He said: "I'm delighted to be staying here as I've really enjoyed my time here so far. The dressing room is a great place to be and I'm excited looking ahead at the games coming up.

"I feel I will only get better as I get more experience under my belt and I want to help the team as far up the league as possible, so who knows where we can go."
