Man Utd star Pogba: We won Europa for Manchester

Paul Pogba has dedicated Manchester United's Europa League victory to the city of Manchester after the northwest metropolis was attacked on Monday night.

A bombing that took place at the Ariana Grande concert in the Manchester Arena has claimed 22 lives and left many more injured.

With a sombre mood prior to the match, Pogba – who scored United's first of their two goals – was committed to bringing some joy back to Manchester.

"We know things like this are very sad, all over the world," said the France star. "In London and Paris. We had to focus, it was very important.

"We won for Manchester, we worked for them, for the country. We play for England, for Manchester and for the people who died.

"We knew we were going to play in the Europa League all the way to here in Stockholm.

"We did it, we're very proud. This time we had a bad season, but we did it. We have three trophies, we will enjoy it now."

United ran 2-0 winners over Ajax in front 46, 961 people at the Friends Arena in Stockholm.
