Paul Pogba says he has escaped from "behind the shadows" after Jose Mourinho's departure as manager of Manchester United.

The Frenchman has been in excellent form under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And after delivering the match-winning assist against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, the midfielder said he was happy to be playing again.

"Before the coach arrived I was in the shadows, on the bench, and I accepted that," he said.

"It is a pleasure to play again. Now I am always smiling."
