David De Gea could lose as much as £12million in wages if he signs with Real Madrid.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Manchester United goalkeeper will have to settle for a smaller salary if he opts to join Real Madrid.
The Red Devils have offered De Gea, 24, £220,000-a-week but it is believed that he could accept lower to return to Madrid and sign with Real.
De Gea won United's Player of the Year award on Tuesday night but it continues to be reported that he could depart Old Trafford in the summer.
