Manchester United and Tottenham are eyeing Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

The Daily Star says both Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino have been keeping track of former Chelsea ace Ake, 23, in recent weeks.

Ake played under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge and the United boss believes the Holland international cold be the answer to United's defensive woes.

Pochettino has also identified Ake as a potential replacement for Spurs contract rebel Toby Alderweireld.

Belgian Alderweireld is still refusing to sign a new deal after being denied a move to United in the summer.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe would not be keen to sell Ake, who has been their standout performer since his £20m move from Stamford Bridge at the start of last season.
