Man Utd skipper Maguire dropped by England over guilty verdict

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has lost his England place after being found guilty of assault and other charges in Greece.

Maguire was arrested days ago after getting involved in a fight with tourists and local police in Mykonos.

The defender alleges his sister was threatened and pleaded his innocence, but was found guilty after a short trial.

Maguire got a suspended sentence and will serve no jail time, but will appeal the guilty verdict on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and repeated attempts of bribery.

England initially included him in the squad for UEFA Nations League games with Iceland and Denmark.

But Gareth Southgate reversed his decision after the guilty verdict came out later on the same day.
