Manchester United signing Raphael Varane has posted a farewell to Real Madrid.

The France defender is leaving Real after ten years with the Spanish giants.

He wrote today: "The last few days have been full of emotions, feelings that I now want to share with all of you. After 10 incredible and wonderful years at Real Madrid, a club that I will always carry in my heart, the day has come to say my goodbyes.

"Since my arrival in 2011, we have together exceeded all expectations and achieved things that I could never have dreamed of. I want to thank all the coaches and all the people who work or have worked at the club for all they have done for me. A big thank you also to all the Madridistas who have always given me a lot of love and, with their high standards, pushed me to do my best and fight for every success.

"I had the honour of sharing a locker room with the best players in the world. Of countless victories that I will never forget, including 'La Decima'. I realise that it is a great privilege to have been able to live these special moments. Finally, I would like to thank all the Spaniards and in particular the city of Madrid, where my two children were born. This country will always be special to me.

"It was an incredible trip from all points of view. I leave with the feeling of having given everything and not changing anything in our history. A new chapter begins..."
