When Henrikh Mkhitaryan came on in the 75th minute of Manchester United's clash with AFC Bournemouth, he created history.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder replaced Juan Mata late in United's 3-1 win in their Premier League season opener to become the first Armenian to play in England's top flight.
Mkhitaryan, who joined the Red Devils from German club Borussia Dortmund, also took the number of nationalities to have played in the Premier League to a remarkable 112.
Equatorial Guinea's Emilio Nsue made it 111 nations represented when he played for Middlesbrough against Stoke City on Saturday and now Mkhitaryan has added another to the overall tally.
For the record, Spaniard Mata, Englishman Wayne Rooney and Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored to have United cruising at 3-0 before another Englishman, Adam Smith, pulled one back for the Cherries.
