Man Utd set aside £175m for centre-half pair

Manchester United are prepared to pay massive money on two new centre-halves.

ESPN says United are targeting Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly after being snubbed by Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

De Ligt was given the chance to join Manchester United but is opting to join team-mate Frenkie de Jong at Barcelona instead.

Now United bosses have other targets in Leicester's Maguire and Napoli's Koulibaly.

The club tried to sign Maguire after the World Cup last summer but Leicester would not budge on a £75m valuation for the defender.

Napoli centre-half Koulibaly is regarded as one of Europe's best defenders and has also been continually linked with a move to Old Trafford but could cost close to £100m.
