Manchester United are eyeing Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
The Manchester Evening News says United are attempting to recruit a central midfielder on loan until the end of the season.
The significant injuries to midfielders Paul Pogba (ankle) and Scott McTominay (knee) have spurred United into action and the club is focusing on the European market, rather than British options.
Llorente, 24, has been identified as a ideal option by United scouts.
He moved to Atletico from Real Madrid for £35million in the summer but has only started three of their 19 La Liga matches and managed 16 minutes in the league and Champions League over the last eight weeks.
