Man Utd see Valladolid defender Salisu as Lindelof replacement

Manchester United are weighing up a move for Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu.

ESPN says United are set to enter the race to sign Salisu, as questions over Victor Lindelof's ability persist.

The Swedish centre-back, who signed a contract extending his deal to 2024, has been the favoured man to partner club captain Harry Maguire under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign, but club chiefs are still unconvinced.

The Old Trafford side want to add competition for Lindelof this summer, and they are already making contact with Real Valladolid over Salisu

The Ghanaian has a £10.4m release clause in his deal with the Spanish side, making his summer departure almost certain after showing his talent in LaLiga.

Real Madrid are also interested in the 20-year-old, but with Salisu being represented by Juan Mata's father the English club have a natural in.
